Do I Need a Video Wall Controller? Daisy Chain, Processors and LED Controllers

For an LCD video wall that shows one source across all panels, you often do not need a separate controller: many panels can be daisy-chained and set up with their built-in tile matrix, for example up to 5 by 5 on the Samsung VH55C-R and up to 15 by 15 on the LG 55VL5F-A. You need an external video wall processor when the wall must show several sources at once in different windows or switch layouts, as in control rooms. LED walls always need a controller, but all-in-one LED displays have one built in.

Option 1: Daisy Chain and Built-in Tile Matrix

Option 2: External Video Wall Processor

A processor takes several inputs, such as PCs, cameras and dashboards, and places them in windows anywhere on the wall, with saved layouts operators can switch between. Option 3: LED Walls and Their Controllers

LED cabinets always need a controller. All-in-one LED displays include it: the Samsung P1.5 130 inch and Samsung P0.84 146 inch have an integrated control box that removes the need for external processors or media players, and the MAXHUB Raptor series has a built-in Android system.
