All-in-One Video Conferencing Display vs TV and Video Bar: Which to Choose?

By Trianze Tech Team

Choosing between an all-in-one display and a TV with a video bar? Book a site survey or WhatsApp our AV consultants and we will recommend the right setup for your room.

Choose an all-in-one video conferencing display when you want one touch device that handles the call, the whiteboard and screen sharing, typically in a small or medium room. Choose a commercial display with a separate video bar when the room needs a bigger or second screen, a camera and microphones sized to a larger table, or the option to upgrade the camera and the screen separately. All-in-one displays in our range run from 43 to 86 inches; a display plus bar can go up to 98 inches or a video wall.

What an All-in-One Display Includes

An all-in-one display combines a 4K touch screen, camera, microphone array, speakers and a computer in one unit. Examples from our range:

  • Yealink MeetingBoard 65 Pro: 65 inch 4K touch with up to 20 touch points, triple 50MP camera, 16 microphone array with 12 metres of pickup, Windows or Android system, listed for 1 to 6 people.
  • MAXHUB XBoard V7 V6550: 65 inch 4K, Trident triple 50MP camera, 16 microphone array with 15 metres of pickup, 50 point touch, optional Windows PC module.
  • MAXHUB V6 Transcend T6530: 48MP plus 8MP flip camera that hides when not in use, 8 microphone array with 8 metres of pickup.
  • Huawei IdeaHub S2: 65 inch 4K with a 4K AI camera, auto framing, voice tracking and 12 metres of pickup.
  • LG One:Quick Works 55CT5WN-B: 55 inch 4K, Zoom certified, built-in Windows PC and a 10 microphone array. The LG One:Quick Flex 43HT3WJ is a 43 inch option with a Full HD camera for small spaces.

What a Display Plus Video Bar Includes

Here the screen and the conferencing system are separate. A commercial display from our display range or large format displays is paired with a bar matched to the room, such as the Poly Studio X52 or Yealink MeetingBar A50. Many bars, such as the Poly Studio X32, X52 and X72, support two displays, so one can show people and the other the shared content. See our video bar by room size guide to pick the bar.

When an All-in-One Display Is the Better Choice

  • The room seats up to about six to eight people and the team wants to write on the screen during calls.
  • You want the fewest cables and devices, for example in a fit-out with no rack or room PC.
  • The same room is used for workshops and training as well as calls.

When a Display Plus Video Bar Is the Better Choice

  • The table is long, so you need microphone reach of 7 to 10 metres or ceiling microphones.
  • You want a 75 to 98 inch screen, two screens, or a video wall.
  • You want to upgrade the camera later without replacing the screen.

Planning the Room

Both options need a power and network point at the display, a mount or stand from our mount range, and ideally a room booking panel. Trianze Tech surveys the room in Dubai or Abu Dhabi and recommends the setup that suits your seats, platform and budget. See our video conferencing solutions.

Frequently asked questions

What is an all-in-one video conferencing display?

It is a touch display with the camera, microphones, speakers and computer built in, so one device runs the meeting, the whiteboard and screen sharing. Examples we supply include the Yealink MeetingBoard 65 Pro, MAXHUB XBoard V7, Huawei IdeaHub S2 and LG One:Quick range.

Is an all-in-one display better than a TV and a video bar?

Neither is better for every room. An all-in-one display suits small and medium rooms where you want touch, whiteboarding and one simple device. A commercial display with a separate video bar suits rooms that need a larger or dual screen, a stronger camera or microphones for a bigger table, or the freedom to upgrade parts separately.

Can I use a normal TV for video conferencing?

You can, but a commercial display is the better choice for meeting rooms. Commercial displays are built for long operating hours and come with business warranties and control options. Pair the display with a certified video bar that matches the room size.

What screen size do all-in-one meeting displays come in?

In our range, all-in-one meeting displays come from 43 inches (LG One:Quick Flex) through 55 inches (LG One:Quick Works) and 65 inches (Yealink MeetingBoard 65 Pro, Huawei IdeaHub S2) up to 86 inches in the MAXHUB XBoard V7 series. For larger rooms, a 75 to 98 inch commercial display with a separate bar is more common.

Do all-in-one displays work with Microsoft Teams and Zoom?

Yes, but check the model. The Yealink MeetingBoard 65 Pro offers a Windows or Android system, the LG One:Quick Works 55CT5WN-B is Zoom certified with a built-in Windows PC, and the MAXHUB XBoard V7 takes an optional Windows PC module. Confirm the certification for your platform before ordering.
