Digital Signage Cost Factors: What Shapes a Signage Budget in the UAE

By Trianze Tech Team

Planning a digital signage budget? Book a site survey or WhatsApp our AV consultants and we will recommend the right screens for your room.

A digital signage budget depends on how many screens and what size, how bright they must be (indoor, window-facing or outdoor), how many hours a day they run, how content is played and managed, and the mounting, content and installation around them. We do not publish prices because every site is different, but these factors explain why two projects with the same number of screens can differ a lot.

1. Number and Size of Screens

Screen count and size are the starting point. Our range runs from small shelf and kiosk displays to 98 inch screens such as the Samsung QM98T-B. A few large screens in high traffic spots often work better than many small ones. See the full digital signage collection.

2. Brightness and Location

Brightness is the biggest jump in cost. Indoor screens in our range are mostly 350 to 700 nits, window-facing screens such as the LG 75XS4P reach 4,000 nits, and outdoor screens such as the Samsung OH75A (3,500 nits) are sealed for weather. Our signage brightness guide shows which level each location needs.

3. Operating Hours

Displays are rated for daily use, for example 16 hours a day, 7 days a week on the Samsung QB75B or 24/7 on the Sony BRAVIA FW-55BZ35P. A screen that runs all day, every day needs a 24/7 rated model.

4. Media Player and Content Management

Many signage displays have a built-in system, such as the Android based BenQ ST6502, so they play scheduled content without an external player. A content management system lets you update all screens from one place; plan who will manage it and whether it runs on-premise or in the cloud.

5. Mounting, Kiosks and Structures

Wall mounts, ceiling mounts, floor stands, kiosks and double sided units such as the BenQ DH551F each need the right hardware from our mount range. Portrait screens, menu boards and window installs often need custom brackets.

6. Video Walls

When one screen is not big enough, a video wall adds panels, mounts and a controller. Read our video wall cost factors guide.

7. Content Creation

Screens only work when the content is right for the location and viewing distance. Templates, menus, playlists and regular updates should be part of the plan.

8. Network, Installation and Support

Power and network points at every screen, cable routing, installation, configuration, staff training and a maintenance contract complete the project.

Ways to Keep the Budget Under Control

  • Match brightness to the real light level; do not buy outdoor brightness for an indoor corridor.
  • Use displays with a built-in player where the content allows it.
  • Start with high traffic locations and expand later on the same content system.
  • Choose the right operating hour rating instead of over-specifying.

Frequently asked questions

What affects the cost of a digital signage project?

The main factors are the number and size of screens, brightness (indoor, window-facing or outdoor), daily operating hours, whether the screen has a built-in media player or needs an external one, the content management system, mounting or kiosk structures, content creation, network and installation, and support.

Why are outdoor and window displays more expensive than indoor screens?

They are built to stay readable in sunlight. Indoor signage in our range is mostly 350 to 700 nits, while window-facing displays reach 2,500 to 4,000 nits and outdoor displays 3,000 to 4,000 nits, with sealed, weather-protected housings. That extra brightness and protection is built into the product.

Can I use a consumer TV for digital signage?

It is not recommended. Commercial signage displays are rated for long daily hours, for example 16/7 or 24/7, and come with business warranties, remote management and features such as scheduling and portrait mounting that consumer TVs do not offer.

Do I need a separate media player?

Not always. Many current signage displays have a built-in system that plays content and schedules from a content management system, for example Android based BenQ ST and SH series displays. An external player is useful for special content or when the display has no built-in platform.

How many screens should I start with?

Start with the locations where people stop or wait, such as reception, lifts, counters and shop windows, then add screens once the content and schedule are working. A content management system lets you add screens later without changing the setup.
