VCM36-W is wireless, using WiFi and battery power for flexible placement anywhere in the room, while VCM35 is a wired microphone that requires a network cable connection. Both offer the same 6 metre, 360 degree pickup range.
It offers up to 12 hours of conference mode battery life and up to 7 days of standby time on a single charge, with a wireless charging cradle included for convenient recharging between meetings.
It uses WiFi with WPA2 and AES128 encryption to protect audio communications, so conversations remain secure even though the microphone connects wirelessly to the room system.
It depends on the endpoint: with MeetingBar A20 or A30 it acts as an external microphone and takes over pickup entirely, while with MeetingBoard 65/86 or MeetingBar A10/A40 it acts as an expansion microphone that works alongside the built-in microphone.
The wireless transmission range extends up to 65 feet (20 metres), letting participants place and move the microphone freely around the room after a single initial pairing.
