The Shure MXW2X/VP68 is a rechargeable handheld wireless transmitter with a VP68 condenser capsule, made for presenters who hold a microphone or pass it around for Q and A. It is compatible with Microflex Wireless neXt systems, and this listing is the Z10 frequency band version.
The VP68 condenser capsule has an omnidirectional pickup pattern, which accommodates varying microphone positioning. Shure recommends it for rooms where feedback and room noise are not significant; for noisier rooms the MXW2X/SM86 or MXW2X/SM58 cardioid versions are a better fit.
The MXW2X/VP68 operates for up to 25 hours with the included SB908 lithium battery pack and recharges quickly. An information screen on the transmitter shows battery time remaining, room assignment and more.
Adjustable transmit power provides reliable wireless coverage up to 160 feet (50 meters), and dual transmit antennas maximize range regardless of hand placement. Always-on AES-256 encryption protects meeting audio, and an out-of-range alert reminds the user to return the transmitter to the charging station.
Yes. MXW neXt transmitters can be remotely muted and unmuted by a room control system. The programmable mute button on the handheld can control one or multiple transmitters and can be set to push-to-talk, push-to-mute or push-on/push-off, and the power switch can be defeated to prevent accidental power-off.
